My homeworld is a distant memory. The things I cannot remember in my waking hours come back to me in my nightmares. It's my greatest fear....going back. Sometimes I wake up sweating in my Nali hut because I think I'm right back in the filth of the society I left behind. Sometimes I have dreams about the Bodega Bay as it descended into hell like a flaming chariot. Sometimes I imagine myself being trapped inside. To me the Bodega Bay represented Earth...a smoldering wreck spiraling downward to meet its inevitable demise. I was saved from that fate.

The Nali who rescued me from my escape pod didn't fear me because I was different. So many aliens fall from the sky on this planet and while nearly all of them have been hostile to this benevolent race, they still meet each new arrival with open arms. I knew right away that I had found where I belonged. I had to travel thousands of lightyears but I got here. I found my sanctuary.

There are many threats to the harmony I have so cherished here. For 15 years since the fall of the Bodega Bay, my new family and I have been fortunate enough to avoid those dangers. But I fear our time is running out. Na Pali is a series of epic struggles between those seeking power and those aiming to loose it. It won't be long until the cruel brutality of others threatens to invade our humble society. If the history of Earth's people has taught me anything, tyranny spreads like a plague...

This is a UT project by the fans of Unreal. And is an attempt to create the sequel to Unreal that Unreal 2 wasn't. A new storyline, new dangers and new creatures await you on Na Pali.

BubbletUT

Development Status: Released Mar 18, 2006
Last Updated: 25 months ago
Type of Mod: Single Player Puzzle Compilations
More Info

BubbletUT is a new gametype for UT of the popular Bubblet! game out and about. It's a logic/puzzle game where you have a grid of bubblets to pop. Sounds simple, except that the more bubblets you have connected when you pop them, the more points you get for it.

Throw in 4 different modes of play, and you have a quite challenging (at times) simple little puzzle game. The modes are:

  • Standard: Bubblets only fall downward as space permits. Games are usually quick, but can be challenging at times.

  • Continuous: As you wipe out entire columns of bubblets, new columns are created and brought into play.

  • Shifter: Bubblets now shift to the right as well as fall downwards when space permits. Takes a bit of getting used to planning how things will look after large pops.

  • [*]MegaShifter: Bubblets not only shift both right and down as space permits, but new columns are introduced as well as shifted when columns are depleted. High scores can be expected from a master, but just how high can you go?

BuF Bonus Pack 1

Development Status: Released Aug 4, 2005
Last Updated: 33 months ago
Type of Mod: Single & Multiplayer First Person Shooter
More Info

The BUF Bonus Pack for UT contains 7 maps (5 DM, 1 DOM and 1 CTF) and a mutator with 5 new weapons and 4 new powerups. Most of the items in this mod originated in the minds of BeyondUnreal forumers, so expect the unexpected. ;)

We have a Cheeselocator (replaces translocator), a Poop Rifle (replaces the bio rifle), a Smiley Launcher (replaces the rocket launcher), a Railgun (two versions replacing the sniper rifle and the enhanced shock rifle) and the Super Sheep (replaces the redeemer).

The pickups include a armor shard and the Goshenizer (replaces damage amplifier) which increases damage and firing speed.

Originally we planned to release another bonuspack which was supposed to replace all UT weapons, but we stopped development for UT, so only two of the new weapons are in a playable state (without models, but they work) increasing the number of replaced weapons to 7.

The update also contains several bugfixes for the existing weapons.

Bullet Time

Development Status: Released Jul 11, 2005
Last Updated: 33 months ago
Type of Mod: Single Player First Person Shooter
More Info

This mutator brings the best of Max Payne to Unreal Tournament ... Bullet Time !

Here are the features from Bullet Time version 3.00:

  • The One (remember The Matrix?) has special abilities. You can become The One by killing the player that is currently The One, or by killing anybody if nobody is The One yet.

  • The One can control time, that means he can use Bullet Time if he has enough time left. When you go into Bullet Time, time slows down accompanied by smooth sound effects and you can pick off the enemy's one by one. You can configure how much the game slows down when you are in Bullet Time trough the menu.

  • The One can control projectiles. You can either reverse them so they head for the players who shot them, or completely freeze them. Those two actions cost a certain amount of Bullet Time, the amounts can be configured trough the menu.

  • If you kill The One, you earn a bonus in frags. The bonus (surprise) can once again be configured trough the menu.

  • Easy key binding. You can (in the menu of course) bind keys to all the actions The One can perform. You can also choose if you want to hold the key to stay in Bullet Time, or that it works by toggle.

  • When you are The One and you are severely injured, a phone (watch the end of The Matrix again if you don't know what I am talking about) will start to ring, which sound points you to the nearest Medkit.

  • No teamkilling ! You can choose if teamkilling will be punished (you can't become The One by killing The One if he's on your team) or, if you're really mean, you can set it so you can get away with that.

  • Full mod compatibility ! Play this mutator with your favorite gametype, together with your favorite weapons pack and maps. You really have to try this with Tactical Ops (works with Tacops 2.1.4 and above). I've slightly hacked Tactical Ops, so that when you're playing Tacops you can see all the bullets flying around. This is really Bullet Time to the next level.

  • New camera view. If you prefer a Max Payne-like third person camera instead of the normal behindview that gives you a poor vision and lacks any method of aiming, I've included a new camera view that gives you the action from just above the player so you keep a good view of your surroundings and enemies. To make you able to aim, a laser dot is used in the third person view that scales with the distance from which you're looking at it to make keep it clearly visible at all times.

  • A nifty HUD icon will tell you how many Bullet Time you have left, and it also shows you who The One is at the moment.

  • You can set the HUD icon to either the left or the right side of the screen, so it won't interfere with other Mods' HUD's.

  • The One is faster then Bullets. If he has enough Bullet Time left, he can dodge any projectile that is coming for him. While dodging, an advanced Matrix-like effect is played while using a camera view from behind.

ModSquad rated Bullet Time 3.00 with a 9,5. The mutator received a 9 at Mutation. Bullet Time has been featured in multiple magazines.
