The Marathon: Resurrection project is breathing new, fully 3D life into an old 2.5D action game. With the advanced 3D capabilities of today's graphics cards, Marathon can become an even more visually-stunning and addictive game. The vessel for this rebirth: Unreal Tournament. Team Unpfhorgiven is taking all those tired, old sprites and turning them into true 3D models. The enemies will be greasier, scarier and, with the help of Unreal Tournament AI programming, far more challenging opponents. We're converting both single-player and multiplayer modes of Marathon, so that PC users can experience what a FPS plot should be like, and Mac users can indulge themselves in nostalgia, and everyone can enjoy the unique, addictive sensation derived from multiplayer Marathon over TCP/IP. We're taking it all, messing with it, and spitting it back out. If you're looking for a carbon copy, try the excellent Aleph One. If you're here, you're getting Marathon, Team Unpfhorgiven-style.... |

The idea behind Marathon|Rampancy was first sparked on a camping trip over two years ago. It was made with one simple goal in mind: to bring Bungie's classic multiplayer game to the internet. Along the way it has expanded upon and refined the original ideas behind Marathon, in hopes that Rampancy will appeal to the broad expectations of both vets and neophytes alike. Rampancy includes ten gametypes that utilize both its own map pack and any UT based map. Each gametype comes with a ton of options that should allow almost any map to be playable, although some work far better than others. The best maps are usually the ones that are arena style, small to medium in size, and easy to negotiate quickly. Gametypes:

Have you ever dreamt of performing any crazy moves in Unreal Tournament??? So now you'll have the chance to play as Neo. With Matrix Moves, you'll have the chance to perform 7 new moves in-game, bringing much more fun and action that you can imagine. Also, it has a great compatibility, coming as a mutator. It means you can use it with other mods! *Bots won't perform the moves... but who cares??? :P The new moves: Yeah! You'll fell like a ninja when doing this :P Instead of just performing the movement in the 3rd person, your camera will rotate, too! A great help to reach further things... One of the best thing here: You can stay in middle air! Like the Matrix Moves Frontflip and Backflip, your camera will rotate while performing them. Whoa! This one is really crazy... Just Crouching and Jumping at the same time... |

Monster Hunt is a team based modification for Unreal Tournament comprising of two new game types, Monster Hunt and Monster Arena. In Monster Hunt, you and your team of hunters (humans or bots) must work your way through the level while killing everything that stands in your way. Monsters you'll face range from the tiny but deadly Pupae, to slimy Sliths that spew blobs of slime at you, to the huge stone-throwing Titans. Monster Hunt is the perfect blend of multiplayer and single single player, single player in the sense that the levels and style of Monster Hunt are very much like that of a single player game, but the team based gameplay gives it a great multiplayer feel. Players must work as a team to survive, players on their own will be overpowered by the monsters and sent back to the beginning of the level. Players shouldn't grab all the health and ammo as they come to it, it should be shared out amongst the players who need it most, or you could let one player grab lots of health and pick-ups and he can then charge the monsters to weaken them, the other players following. All this also adds a bit of strategy to the gameplay. Monster Arena is very differant from Monster Hunt, in Monster Arena, you and your team aren't batteling your way through the level to get to the boss at the end, rather you are faced with one extremely powerful monster that must be killed. |

In MultiCTF, a "normal" CTF match is running. But now, when you capture someone's flag, they get a point. When a Team reach a specific amount of points, the Team is out. And here's the reason of the Mod's name: You can play CTF with 4 teams. Of course, you'll need special maps to play with 4 teams, but you can play normal CTF matches in normal CTF maps, too. In addition, the Mod bring tons of options:
The Bot's AI is perfect: Every team has a specified "enemy team" that is the target of their attacks. Bot teams choose their enemy teams wisely, making MultiCTF enjoyable as a single player game as well. Furthermore, players can choose what team to attack, and their bots will go after the designated team. In addition, MultiCTF adds several new objects to maps as well, giving map designers much more control. Mappers can add triggers that are activated when teams are out, so bases can be sealed off, turrets acivated, etc. Also, triggers that are activated once a team has reached a certain score are also implemented, so trapdoors, secret weapons caches, etc. can be opened in the losing team's base - to make future captures on that team much more difficult! To play, download the base MultiCTF package,
download some extra maps, and get playing! |
