The Tactical Ops Series is all about the fast action-packed gameplay with terrorists fighting against Special Forces in a wide range of environments. The challenging scenarios will test both your reactions and your skill. The wide variety of weapons makes for varied gameplay, which is easy to learn but hard to master, you can get up close and personal with the Mossberg 590 or hang back with the M700 Sniper, the way you play is up to you. All of the maps are being rebuilt for TO3 to take advantage of the powerful new engine, expect some old proven favorites and also some new maps to add to the mix. We can guarantee that all of the maps will be lush and detailed without compromising the flow and gameplay.


One of the unique qualities of this project is the community involvement, this is your game so we want you to tell us how it should be. Drop into our suggestions forum and give us some feedback, every suggestion is considered and if we think your idea is great then we will integrate it into the game.

Note: This is the ModDB profile for the Tales of Fyrndell Tech Demo to be showcased as a mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The tech demo will be the first 30 minutes to 1 hour of the full game, and will be created to give a glimpse of the story, show off our AI, and display the technology we are working on for the full game of Tales of Fyrndell.


We will not be showcasing a "tutorial level." It will be the full-blown introduction to Tales of Fyrndell, completed to perfection. The Tech Demo is meant to entice investors, interest gamers, and add innovation to a lackluster suite of gaming genres.


We will be releasing Tales of Fyrndell: Tech Demo by June 2007. Work is well underway. Sit tight ;)


The Story


Fyrndell is a land in strife after the Ten Year War. You play as a general under the Kingdom of Trythia as your forces finally take the upperhand in the war, all to unveil the true meaning for all the death and destruction, and to stop the evil forces opposing you.


Trythia--a kingdom that has been at war for ten years, with its enemies getting closer and closer to the capital as each day passes. As the end of the war nears, Trythia's Supreme General unleashes his fury. The Black Legion leaves the Trythian capital, smashing through enemy fortifications while retaking land.


As one of the Supreme General's subordinate commanders, you must take your legion to towns and villages in Trythia, retaking them one-by-one. As the land is retaken and power restored to the kingdom, Trythia goes on the offensive, pushing into enemy land.


Arriving at an enemy city close to the border with Trythia, you witness the Black Legion's power--your Supreme General ravages the enemy city, killing every creature in sight. As the city burns to the ground, the Black Legion--and other friendly legions--move deeper into enemy territory, ravaging and murdering across the land. On this path of conquest and obliteration, you uncover something about the Supreme General--and your country--that sends shivers through your spine and goosebumps on your arms. All is not as it appears, and your world is torn upside-down.


The Game


Tales of Fyrndell is to be a technologically-advanced first-person real time strategy game, wherein you play the role of a general in first-person view, commanding your legion and strategising attacks against the enemy. Tales of Fyrndell will be released episodically, for a planned $30 for 10 hours of gameplay. The decision to release this episodically guarantees the fact that we can keep up with current technology while still progressing the story.


We are currently modifying Oblivion to present our tech demo upon. Gamebryo, the engine powering The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, provides us enough technology to develop our tech demo upon, and the Construction Kit generously provided by Bethesda ensures we are able to create a tech demo in a quick amount of time with small resources.


The design document is not currently completed. The game has been in planning since early 2004 by Dan and Josh Mattia, and its completion will be the highest point in Dan's life. Overdrive Games is passionate in delivering the best experience possible, utilising technology and hardware to its fullest.

"Make Peace or Die"


“Talon 1-5” is a story-driven single-player and co-op mod that aims to combine realism and combat tactics with a science-fiction environment. It will put players into a war to end all wars where they will have to think in order to survive. Taking inspiration from history as well as imagination, we will strive to tell a story about the infantrymen and women of the early 22nd century and how they must persevere for survival and victory like all the Marines who preceded them.


The story centers around an 12-man special forces squad, codenamed “Talon” attached to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment of the United States Marine Corps. As our world once again sinks into war, Talon 1-5 becomes part of the Battalion Landing Team for 31st MEU. As a special operations unit, Talon 1-5 are tasked with hunting down and detaining an influential revolutionary leader, as he may hold the key to ending the conflict before them. This classified mission will underlie their more immediate objectives in participation of the North American and Asiatic theaters of the third great war.


A first person shooter at its core, “Talon 1-5” will incorporate gameplay that is both believable and tactical. However, tactical is not necessarily synonymous with slow. Players will have to work with their squad-mates to survive some of the most frantic and hectic situations that the war will throw at them.

The Ball: Pehua is a first person singleplayer puzzle mod with an Aztec theme to it. The mod takes place in a mysterious Aztec temple which has only been discovered recently, at the top of a volcano. The player has to use the Impact Gun to move a large steel ball around and utilize that ball to solve puzzles and get around obstacles. Impact Gun aside, the mod uses all new custom art to establish a unique, stylish, and atmospheric experience.

The next part of the popular multiplayer shooter series is coming - and, according to the developers, Unreal Tournament 2007 will bring a lot of fresh ideas and solutions. The game will use the breathtaking Unreal 3 Engine. It is confirmed that Bombing Run, Assault and Domination gameplay types will be no longer included, and will be replaced with a new massive battle Unreal Warfare mode. Other gametypes - Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch and Onslaught will remain intact. There will be also changes in weaponry and equipment - the Bio Rifle will be merged into Canister Gun, with the Mine Layer and Grenade Launcher. Link Gun and the mysterious AVRiL weapon will be added. The Minigun will be replaced with Unreal's Stinger. A number of vechicles, as well as improved AI, voice recognition and focus on gameplay has been also confirmed.

The Haunted

The Haunted is a multiplayer third person shooter with human players controlling the enemies. One player is the haunted and the other players are demonic spirits who have to do everything in their malevolent power to prevent the haunted from lifting his curse.  Demons have to work together, possess creatures, place traps and perform environmental actions to agonize and finally kill the haunted. Whereas the haunted has to survive and investigate eerie places to finally liberate himself from the malediction.



Features
:



  • As The Haunted it is action focused survival gameplay with realistic weapons, right in the vein of Resident Evil but with total freedom in movement and a more intense weapon handling.



  • The unique gameplay as demon allows you to spawn as powerful creature or place vicious traps almost everywhere on the map, creating an unpredictable threat for the haunted.



  • Creatures are mostly humanoid, but unlike normal zombies they have special movement abilities like climbing and pouncing. Others are equipped with weapons or arcane powers.



  • The Haunted must search the environment to find new weapons, ammo and items that will help him to make a stand against the undead menace.



  • Minimal hud design for creatures and haunted. Damage is shown on the characters with blood splatter, dirt and scars along with post processing effects and physical hit animations.



  • Levels will include classic haunted places such as a cursed chapel, cabin in the woods, ghost town, sewers of a urban city, dark catacombs and more.

The Inception, a multi-player modern deathmatch game for Unreal Tournament 3 hopes to bring a new style of deathmatch into Unreal Tournament 3. This game is set in a modern fictional universe where people can bend the fabrics of space to slow down time and alter physics for a short period. Players will have to master the new style of gaming to survive or be killed.


Planned Unique Features for the mod are as listed.


- Ability to slow down time for a few seconds after completing a special feat.

- Ability to alter physics to your advantage with powerups.

- Revenge System: Don't just stand there, take revenge on your killer(s) for extra points.

- Weight System: As you have more weapons you will begin to slow down. Different weapons have different weights.

- Abundance of guns and unique weapons.

- Vehicular Deathmatch: Adds vehicles to the deadly equation in supported maps.

The Oppression

The oppression is a single and multiplayer modification for Unreal Tournament 3. The mod features 5 new custom weapons and 4 new custom vehicles. Although the mod is much more focused on the singleplayer, the multiplayer aspect offers about 10 new maps featuring CTF, death and teamdeathmatch modes.As more is released about UT3, we will offer the other gametypes as well.


Story:

Humanity?Civilization?pushed to the point of almost total destruction. After the 3rd world war, humanity formed a high command to stop all international fighting. After about 10 years of prosperous living, the oppressors came. Without warning or reason, they hit earth relentlessly. Within 5 hours, they destroyed all of earth?s orbital defenses. Slowly destroying the remaining defenses planetside. During the course of a year, all but a few of earth?s major cities were destroyed. Earth?s remaining government decided to withdraw from the cities to outposts within the mountains and wastelands. Over the coarse of 3 or so years, humanity managed to stay hidden, growing and readying for the final battle. With the occasional skirmish or battle, humanity hadn?t really been challenged. The commanders hatched a plan to take back parts of earth. They divided the remaining human forces into 15 battalions, and launched an all out attack on 3 of the major cities still standing. Only 3 of the battalions made it into the cities.


The mod picks up after the human assault. The player takes the role of first sergeant Randy Pinsky. Randy is the CO of a spec ops squad assigned to the industrial zone of the city.


The multiplayer aspect:

The multiplayer aspect is designed mainly for teamplay. Most maps take place within the industrial and urban zones of the cities. A few maps will take place within an Oppressor base. All of the maps will have the ability to play assault and CTF, and most death and teamdeathmatch. Most of the maps will require teammates to work together to get pass obstactles and the enemy team. We are currently working on a gametype that will function as an assault match, but allow each team a set of objectives to defend and assault. The winner of the round is determined by which team completes its assault objectives first, or who has completed the most by the end of the give time limit.*NOTE* this is currently in a design phase, and may not be released with the mod, or released later.

Essence Statement

In an effort to extend the average human life-cycle, a group of scientists unwittingly create a transmittable disease that reacts violently to the chemicals your body releases when you die. This reaction jump-starts the body for continued life. however, without any thoughts of their own, these walking dead rely on only their natural instincts and their extreme hunger. They feel no pain, have no known rational thoughts and they will eat anything not infected with the disease.

You, are one of the lucky ones who managed to hide in a bomb shelter. Now, after a few weeks of living off rations, you must try to survive the aftermath and escape the city.


As you search for a means of escape, you will uncover all the documented events leading up to and after the Zombie Apocalypse.


Game Overview

The Zombie Apocalypse is a First Person Shooter, mixed with a classic action adventures game such as Sam & Max hit the road or the Leisure suite larry series. Theres is also a splash of a role playing game in the leveling and character creation. 


The player is a survivor of an initial zombie outbreak, and must complete several quests in order to escape the quarantined city full of undead. The goal of the game is not only to escape the city, but to solve the mystery of why there are zombies, and even stop them.


The player must use all of their skills in order to travel from building to building, room to room, and search in all the cupboards, desks and filing cabinets in order to stock up on items and ammo. The player has a limited amount of carrying capacity and must take what they think is needed, if the player is alone, they have a larger carrying capacity, but playing with friends, they have a smaller carrying capacity and must communicate what is needed and who can carry what.


If the player encounters any one of the several types of undead creatures in the game, they must either fight the undead, or flee from it. This is because the zombie will be screaming and pretty soon the populace of an entire city will be after the players with an intent to eat them.


The game is over after they manage to avoid the undead, collect the items they need, search for more items they need, build vehicles, and ultimately escape the city. If all the players are killed by zombies and turned undead, the game is also over.


Key Features


Quest based gameplay

-The player must search for his items and ammo. In this endeavor, they will come across plot items and they will have to figure out how to use them in order to complete the game. For example they may discover a fuse, there would be several places to use a fuse but the player must decide the best place to use it


Stealth focused

-there are an infinite amount of zombies in the sewers of the city below the player, so the player must avoid the undead so they dont wake the entire undead populace, if a zombie sees a player it will call out to other zombies while it attacks the player, they player must flee or destroy the zombie before another zombie arrives and they call for more zombies too


Many player multiplayer

-this game can feature an almost infinite amount of players, but is designed around 3-6

-for every player in the game, all the other players carry less and there are more items spawned, and more enemies


Character customization 

-Similar to D&D Character creation, the player receives a number of stats at the beginning of the game and can lower one skill to increase another

-this will give more dynamic creation of classes, such as a brawler, or a mechanic, or a sprinter


Leveling

-The player may not notice it, but behind the scenes, the player increases their stats over time by doing tasks, such as searching through cupboards will increase their searching skill, and thus lower the time it takes to search an area


Vehicles

-Players may come across certain vehicles and with the right tools, they will be able to repair and use them.

-The ground vehicles would offer protection from the undead, as well as help the player move across the city

-A repaired helicopter could help the player escape the city


Free roaming environment

-The city is quarantined around its borders, but there's a lot of city to explore


Item pickups

-all items can be used as weapons, you find a rock and use it to hit


Physics damage

-Players can throw any weapon on hand


Dynamic gameplay

-the levels can be created in a modular form, which will allow the players to create their own levels using an in game level editor

-all items will shuffle through the searchable areas and as such, will enforce the player to search everywhere and no play-through will be the same

-the zombie spawner will create unique zombies, such as slow zombie with a low attack or vice versa, so every encounter is different

-there is also different stains of zombie suited for different tasks


Several different endings

-with several quest trees, such as call for help, or fix a helicopter, if the player completes that string of objectives, they will escape the city in one of several ways

-if the player fails a quest, that string of objectives is cut off, and the player must find another way to escape


Detachable limbs

-The zombies in the game all have limbs that can be broken and severed off

-This lowers the zombies speed, forces the to crawl or lowers their ability to attack the player

-zombies will also spawn with broken limbs or without limbs 


Sub quests

-quests like, find the key code to the bunker, will be optional, but opens up a lot of options for the player


Discover the story

-the player is dropped into this environment, and does not know why the zombies are there, where they came from, or how they came to be. As they progress through the game they come across diaries, new papers, police reports, science texts, recordings. All the events leading up to the zombie apocalypse can be discovered and may require several playthroughs

General info about the modification:


Trudvang is a mod project for Unreal Engine 3. It is an rpg mod based on one of the most popular swedish paper roleplaying games on the market. At the moment we are in concept and planning stage. We are working with the original game community to create a digital version of the roleplaying world that will be as close to the world described by Riotminds as possible. So there is a lot of knowledge and a lot of artistical talent in the team already.


We also have some members of the development team with previous experience from the game industry. We have permission from the company behind the original game to create a mod based on their game world. At the moment our focus is on planning and concepts, we will then focus on creating a playable demo. This will later be shown to the community so everyone will get an idea of what we are trying to make. Also this will work as a test for us to see how well we can work together as a team.


At the moment we have some concept work done, to get an idea of the style we are going for check our gallery.

Trudvang is a fantasy world very much influenced by ancient nordic mythology, tales and legends. It is a dark world where the powers of nature are greater than men, elves and dwarves. In the darkness of the deep forests ancient secets lie hidden under moss covered rocks, great treasures lie hidden in the cold water of the forest lakes.


Trolls hide in the shadows as frightened animals during the daytime, but in the night, when the sun goes down and the night comes they leave their hiding places. Hear the sound of an owl in the distance. Behind a that big rock you think you hear the sound of branches breaking, and in the dark of the night you are almost sure you can see yellow eyes watching every step you take from a distance...


Trudvang is a world filled with great mystery and legends, it is a dark setting where you always have the feeling that you are not quite safe. You are only a small character in a greater story but you can and must make a difference anyway.


We are inspired by the works of John Bauer, the finish national epos Kalevala, the beowulf legends but most of all ancient nordic mythology and legends.
