Unreal Fortification

Development Status: TBD
Last Updated: 5 months ago
Type of Mod: Multiplayer First Person Shooter
More Info

Unreal Fortification is a mod that is based on the concept that was created in the Half-Life 2 Modification Source Forts.

Although based on another mod, this mod will be very unique in many aspects. It will be more detailed, but most of all it will offer completely different game play. Instead of an emphasis on building a wall in the center of the map, and fighting there aswell, Unreal Fortification will have build zones separated by a large "free area". This will encourage players to use other means of attack, such as cannons and catapults due to the inability to create tactical structures in the free area. Each team will have a commander who will be able to place key game objects like those just mentioned (cannons and catapults) and will also be in control of the teams funds. The funds will go to building blocks and other accessories. There will be multiple kinds of building blocks, all with different prices and different effects. This will ensure a different game experience every time you play.

The ultimate goal is to win the game by destroying the other team's core by any means possible then bringing the now available opposing team's orb back to your base. Send your men in on foot or just bomb away from a distance. It's all up to you.

Unreal Tournament Role-Play

Development Status: TBD
Last Updated: 17 months ago
Type of Mod: Multiplayer Role Playing
More Info

Unreal Tournament Role-Play, a multi-player game will focus on the daily life of people instead of deathmatch. In the final version you will be able to buy buildings, rent out rooms, be assigned jobs by an admin, make your own gang, become C.E.O. of most of the buildings, chase down players that commit a crime, rob buildings, buy a diner and make a profit or decline from wages from other people, buy guns at a gun shop, own a vehicle, have a job like a clerk, Army Private, Police Officer, gang member, hotel manager, diner manager, and much much more! This is a game of limitless ideas and is loosley based on the role-playing modification for The specialists mod for half-life. There is no real storyline to this game but that's because you can choose your own destiny, starting out as an unemployed piece of garbage with potential to be the richest man in the city or the top of the police's most

  • wanted list. The map itself will be over similar size of an onslaught map but if the engine allows it (which it most likely will) it could 4 or 5 times that size.

  • This game will be set in a fictional city called Los Reyes which will have a waterfront atmosphere. The city will have all the essential building's and business in a communty and more. There will be places for ammusment (bar, paintball, shooting range), Places for protection (Police station, Bodygaurd agencys), places to eat ( Diner, Burger Joints, Supermarkets and five star restaurants.), places for your gang to hide all over the map and also many more buildings in the community. One of the biggest features is how this game will be partly run by the community, we are open to all ideas you wish to offer and will make changes to the map if you suggest them.

      Some unique features include:

    • Large variety of weapons compared to other games.

    • The ability to get and improve on many everyday skills such as driving, shooting, kungfu and police training.

    • The ability to get a job and move up in the chain of command.

    • The ability to operate a business that sells either a good (black market weapons, drugs, novelty items, food) or a service (cleaning, protection, assassination.)

    • The ability to join or create a gang or mafia and rob or fight with rival gangs, plan assasinations and much more.

      Some other features:

    • Ownership of a car and a house.

    • Purchase upgrades and attachments for your firearms (scope, silencer, flashlight)

    • Have access to a fully working rpg-like storage system.

    • Harness the power of the Ageia physics engine to help set up your house. (this could help barricade the police) ;)

    UT2D

Development Status: Released Apr 20, 2008
    Last Updated: 17 days ago
Type of Mod: Multiplayer Third Person Shooter
    More Info

    Name: UT2D

    Version: 1.2

Joe Bates (jbizzler/ZeelessOne), Chaosnight for the map Chaotic, Odedge for the map Rising Sun 1.1, SAHChandler for the map Vapor Trail, and Rehevkor for the map Waterworks

    Description:

This mod creates gametypes that turns UT3 into a 2D game! You jump a little higher, and some things are missing, but other than that it's basically UT in 2D!

    Changes:

    1.2

Added UT2DArmorPickup_ShieldBelt (I never realized it had a drop; the other armors don't).

     Fixed weapons not dropping.

Fixed CTF HUD navigation arrows pointing to flag.

Changed name and description of UT2D-RisingSun2D to UT2D-RisingSun11 per author's request.

    1.1b

Fixed Waterworks not working properly on the PS3.

    1.1

Changed the spectator camera so it zooms out when unfocused.

When spectating local bots, the camera will now move with respect to where they're looking.

Changed how bots react to eachother when they're really close to eachother.

Changed how far bots can see.

     Light modifications to UT2D-Chaotic.

     Added maps UT2D-RisingSun2D, UT2D-VaporTrail, and UT2D-Waterworks

    1.0

Added ability to jump out of water.

    0.9.8b

     Added UT2DBlockingVolume.

    0.9.8

     Tweaked spectator mode.

Made players walk through each other.

Blocking volumes change (use regular BlockingVolumes now)

    0.9.7

     Added PS3 support.

Fixed camera effects so they stay on the screen (i.e. Impact Hammer blood spatter)

     Fixed recursive EncroachedBy bug.

Removed UT2D Instagib mutator along with Instagib Rifle (suddenly stopped working!)

     Included UT2D-Chaotic

Some other stuff I can't remember.

    0.9.6

Fixed tiny bug that makes bots appear to shoot behind themselves.

Added the ability to extend view downward while crouching.

New level border mandate, see mapping notes.

    0.9.5

Added UT2DScout for proper bot pathing (see mapping notes)

     Made the AI better again.

    0.9.4

     Added UT2D Duel gametype.

Restricted AI sight to be similar to human's.

Greatly improved AI to act more human.

Bots only go after flag bases in CTF games.

    0.9.3

     Made bots far better.

    0.9.2

Fixed dropped powerups leaving the 2D plane.

    0.9.1

Restricted UT2D Instagib mutator to UT2D gametypes.

Made wall-jumping values the same as they will be in Zeeless.

     Added some additional mapping instructions.

    0.9

     Original Release

    Installation:

Installation is pretty straightforward. For PC, just drag the included UTGame folder to "My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3" or wherever you keep your local UT3 files. Then just start up the game, and you'll have three wonderful new gametypes.

For the PS3, place the included USERDATA.JAM file in the root directory (i.e. E:\) of some media the PS3 can read, like a USB flash drive. Start UT3 on the PS3, plug in the media, goto Community->My Content and hit [square] to import it. You should now have the gametypes listed.

    What's included:

Because of its 2D nature, some weapons had to be modified, and others excluded. Also, obviously default UT3 maps won't work very well with it. Here's a list of what has been modified and what hasn't.

    Gametypes:

These are exactly the same as their original shipping counterparts. They only exist to implement the different camera and physics changes. You get:

    UT2D Deathmatch

    UT2D Team Deathmatch

    UT2D Capture The Flag

    UT2D Duel

    Weapons:

Here is a list of all the weapons that have been modified for 2D gameplay.

Avril (It's silly without vehicles, but I included it anyway)

    Bio Rifle

    Enforcer

Flak Cannon (The shells bounce 2D off walls but still spread)

Impact Hammer (Way more useful in this)

    Link Gun

Rocket Launcher (The grenades stay on the 2D plane)

    Shock Rifle

    Stinger

Translocator (The disk stays on the 2D plane)

    Weapons not in:

    Sniper

    Redeemer

    Instagib Rifle

    All deployables

    Powerups:

All the powerups are working as well. See mapping notes for a more technical explanation of this.

    Cheats:

AllWeapons will now give you the 2D weapons only.

DoubleUp will give you a second 2D Enforcer.

    Maps:

    This includes the following maps:

    UT2D-Chaotic by Chaosnight

    UT2D-RisingSun11 by Odedge

    UT2D-VaporTrail by SAHChandler

    UT2D-Waterworks by Rehevkor

    Mutators:

All the shipping mutators should work except Weapon Replacement and Instagib.

    Controls:

The controls are simple. Everything is for the most part the same as UT3. The only change is forward and backward ('W' and 'S' on a keyboard and up and down on the left analog stick) now make you jump and crouch respectively.

    Bug reporting:

I don't know of any bugs in this, but they might be there. Please post bugs right here on this thread:

    UT3 Afterburn

    Development Status: TBD
    Last Updated: 11 months ago
    Type of Mod: Multiplayer Racing
    More Info

Originally AfterBurn set out to be a futuristic glitzy shiney high speed racer ( in a similar way to Wipeout and F-Zero games), with no storyline and no resemblance to the UT3 world. However after much deliberation, and various early development stages it was decided that we should set out with a slightly different approach, intergrating AfterBurn with the existing Unreal World, this is why many of the environments you will see in AfterBurn bare much resemblance of those in UT3. You may also find yourself using similar weaponry and vehicles to those featured in UT3, we can confirm you will be seeing the much loved ONS turrets from UT3 in a track side role (and UT2004) you will also find yourself riding in a vehicle very similar to the Viper, this is currently known as the Viper Gt (Differences include thorough aerodynamic modification and greatly increased power and handling, along with weaponry mounting points). Among the weapons confirmed we can safely say that (in modified forms) the link gun, biorifle, enforcers, flak cannon, rocket launcher and AVRil weapons will appear in AfterBurn (there may also be attempts to resurrect UT2004 weapons such as Spider Mines)

A prominent feature of AterBurn will be the colossal tracks, set in the Unreal universe. AfterBurn will most likely feature; Desert, Snowy, and City Landcapes, with the possibility of Underground, Tropical and Sky maps. There will also be many track side features, such as crowd stands, Pyrotechnics and all the usual extravagance associated with race games.

    UT3 TrueTrix Mod

    Development Status: TBD
    Last Updated: 12 months ago
Type of Mod: Single & Multiplayer First Person Shooter
    More Info

Basic TrueTrix website and mod information

The purpose of the TrueTrix website, as it relates to the official TrueTrix mods, is to provide a center of competition for Unreal Tournament 3 trick jumpers. All of the mods designed for the TrueTrix project have customizable automatic demo recording and timing features. After a demo is recorded, the player may upload his demo to the TrueTrix website where it will be automatically ranked against other demos according to time. The three time based TrueTrix mods are the DM Pickup Run Mod, the CTF Flag Run Mod, and the TrueTrix mod. Each mod has its own set of maps and player rankings.

Player rankings are determined by the amount and the average ranking of the demos you upload. Having a first place demo on most of the maps will cause you to rank high, while having only a few last place demos will cause you to rank very low. There is also an overall player ranking score. It is determined by your ranking from all three of the time based mods.

Then there is the Freestyle Trick Jumping Mod. This mod will be used to record demos when freestyle trick jumping competitions are held on the TrueTrix website. It has not yet been determined how often freestyle competitions will be held. However, there will probably be at least one per week in the early days of UT3. The placement of competitors is determined by community voting.

    UT3 DM Pickup Run Mod

The DM Pickup Run Mod provides another element of trick jumping competition for the TrueTrix website. The object of this mod is to collect all weapon, armor, health, and item pickups on the map as quickly as possible.

    Planned features/options

    * Default movement parameters are locked

    * Custom spawn/restart points

    * Max armor and health on start/restart

    * All weapons available on map are given

    * Max ammo for all weapons is given

    * Reset map at any time

    * Custom automatic demo recording

    * Timer starts when first pickup is touched

    * Timer stops when last pickup is touched

    * Custom restart options

    * Multiple configurations can be saved and loaded

    UT40K

    Development Status: TBD
    Last Updated: 11 months ago
Type of Mod: Multiplayer First Person Shooter
    More Info

This game will be a modification of Unreal Tournament 3. It will be based on the Warhammer 40K universe and will attempt to combine popular aspects of the First Person Shooter and Real-Time Stragety genres. Games such as Dawn of War, Day of Defeat and Warcraft Battlegrounds have been meaningful influences as to the type of cross-genre game we wish create.

The core game-mode, ?Conquer Mode? will be a ?Control the Map? style of play. Teams will face each other in a battle to control areas and objects of the map. As teams gain control of these areas, upgrades and abilites for those teams will become unlocked. The abilities and upgrades a team receives will be dependent on that team's race and the specific area or object in their control. Each race will have a unique set of weapons and play styles. The races will allow for different playing experiences but will be well-balanced.

Different game-play modes are expected to be added at later times.

    UT40K: The Chosen

    Development Status: TBD
    Last Updated: 6 months ago
Type of Mod: Single & Multiplayer First Person Shooter
    More Info

    UT40K: The Chosen

Although 40K players and other Mod Teams may not have herd about us, we have in fact been going on, for quite a while. The fact that a ModDB page was never set up for us has only just been brought to light.

We are a small but dedicated team, devoted to bringing the universe of Games Workshops Warhammer 40,000 to it's full glory, using the UT2004 engine.

While we have been toiling in the shadows, we have actually managed to release a Number of Public Betas over the last year and improve on them with each upgrade.

We are devoted to remaining as close to the publish code rules as we possibly can, to the point where we have implemented both the JAM system, for the Terminator Assault Cannon, and a fully functional vehicle damage system, complete with Front, Side and Rear armour values and features all of the ways of disabling a vehicle (e.g. Crew Stunned, Weapon Destroyed, Immobilised and all the others)

We have two mostly functional races available; The Imperium's finest Space Marines and the treacherous heretics of the Chaos Space Marines. Both of which have two playable chapters Blood Angels and Ultramarines for the Space Marines and the Word Bearers and the Alpha Legion for Chaos.

We are currently a very small team, but we are exceptionally dedicated.

It should be noted that with the imminent release of UT2007, we will be performing an immediate port, of all models, textures and game play functions as soon as possible.

    HELP WANTED:

Instead of posting a "Help Wanted" bulletin, I will say this here. We need all the help that you can offer. We currently have a team of around 6 members all doing their part, but a lack of specialists means that progress at times can be very slow. We ask that you be committed, that you are a team player, and ideally you can provide an example (or several examples) of previous work, although this is not mandatory.

    HOW TO DOWNLOAD:

Go to our forums and register for the forums. Afterwards check out the Beta Testers section of the board for the latest (and greatest) version available. Registering on the forums immediately give you access to the Beta Version and also Beta Tester status.
